Vintage Super Silhouette

Wow, this is golden!  If you aren’t familiar with Super Silhouette races, they were held as part of the Fuji Grand Championship series between 1979 and 1984 and followed Group 5 Standards.  There were very few regulations during this time and cars generally would only share the same basic “Silhouette” as production cars(which is where “Super Silhouette” comes from).  What I loved about these cars was how over the top they were!  If you’ve ever wondered where the Bosozoku style originated from, it probably started here as enthusiasts wanted to bring this aggressive styling to their street cars!

This one is fairly well known – the S110 Impul Silvia!   Look at those Hoshino Impuls!  Beautiful wheels!

The Coca Cola 910 Bluebird Coupe!

Another S110 Silvia.

This is the #3 Impul Silvia – notice the less aggressive aero than the #23 car above.

BMW M1!  Crazy to think it shared a track with the rest of these cars!

The famous Tomica DR30 Skyline.  What a beautiful and amazing car – I’ll post more about it later!

Not as wild, but I’m still loving this Datsun!  Check out the hot pink car in the background!

The Autobacs 910 Bluebird!

I found this over at Team Obscurity!  Check it out!
